Bot programs aren’t necessarily cheating in poker.  The regular bot programs simply play like if they were a regular player and play the game based on patterns stats and percentage plays.

Because online poker is more about making the “right play” than it is reads bot programs can rack up cash just from playing by the numbers.  Full Tilt expressly forbids this in their player agreements except people being people a few players decided to rack up easy cash with a robot poker program.

Life was good for the players using the bots until Full Tilt closed their accounts and the 80k combined within.  As you might expect with that much money confiscated the legal system has now get involved.
